Get involved

Have your say
Fed up with the lack of recycling services in your community? Mad at overdue repairs? Love your community? Why not have your say?
We at Fife Housing Association actively encourage you, our tenants, to get your voices heard on the issues and services that affect your communities - after all, if you don't, who will?
Getting out what you put in
Taking part in a registered tenant group can be immensely satisfying - especially when you see that action is being taken on your concerns. Many communities have local tenant groups already up and running, but if yours doesn't, then we'd be delighted to help you start one up.
What we do for you
Fife Housing Association is keen to support tenant participation, and we regularly send out newsletters and surveys, plan visits by housing officers, hold panels and liaise with tenant groups. This is part of our policy of consultation with tenants. If you want to take part in any form of consultation, contact us to find out more.
Starting your own Tenants Group
It might seem daunting, but starting your own group is really very straightforward. If you want help, we're happy to offer some advice. We also strongly suggest that you register with us, as you'll get a number of benefits including:
- Formal recognition for your group
- Statutory consultation on matters that affect your area - this might include details of long term maintenance and repair or the upgrade of facilities - which means you will be able to give us your opinion on our plans and, more importantly, we will have to listen!
- Access to support from Fife Housing Association and from the Fife Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations.
- Eligible for grant support if you become affiliated to, or recognised by FFOTRA (Fife Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations)
How do I register my group?
Just call the office for an application form, and follow the instructions. You'll need to be able to show that you have:
- A written constitution
- An elected committee
- A defined area of operation
- Open membership
If you need help in working out these criteria, call us. We're here to help.
