Crombie Regeneration

Owner Occupier Information

The Board of Fife Housing Association has taken the decision to demolish our Unitroy Housing Stock in Farm Road, Central Road and Main Road, Crombie and have received Scottish Government Support to do so.

Once demolished, we intend to replace the properties with new build housing. Decanting a number of our tenants has already begun and as soon as enough properties are vacated selective demolition will begin.

If you own your own home and are in the effected areas there are various options open to you. Whilst the Association are keen for owners to participate in the Regeneration the decision on what you wish to do with your property is yours.

The options for owners are as follows:

Sell Your Property to the Association

The Association will offer to buy your property from you. The Valuation will be produced by a Valuation Office approved by the Scottish Government.

You are then free to arrange your own Housing solution with the receipt.

Sell Your Property to Association and Participate in Open Market Shared Equity

The Association will offer to buy your property from you. The Valuation will be produced by a Valuation Office approved by the Scottish Government.

You can then use your receipt to fund the purchase of a new property on the market. If the new property is more expensive than the receipt you receive for your current house, the Scottish Government will fund the difference and retain an Equity stake in the property. More details of how this scheme operates are listed below.

This route is only available until 2010 when the pilot programme will be reviewed by the Scottish Government.

Sell Your Property to the Association and Participate in New Supply Shared Equity

The Association will offer to buy your property from you. The Valuation will be produced by a Valuation Office approved by the Scottish Government.

You can then use your receipt to fund the purchase of a new build property, in Crombie as part of the Regeneration, or elsewhere.  These properties have not yet been built or are under construction at present.

If the new property is more expensive than the receipt you receive for your current house the Scottish Government will fund the difference and retain an Equity stake in the property. More details of how this scheme operates are listed below.

Sell Your Property to the Association and become a tenant

The Association will offer to buy your property from you. The Valuation will be produced by a Valuation Office approved by the Scottish Government.

You could then rent a property from Fife Housing Association or other social housing providers in Fife such as Fife Council or another Housing Association.

Remain in Your Property

You can remain in your property and not participate in the Regeneration. The new build housing development will be designed around your existing property.
